Sugam HMS - Hospital Management System

The Challenge

Sugam needed a single system to replace fragmented, manual processes across patient records, doctor consultations, medicine inventory, and billing one that could run offline-first on Windows, enforce different permission levels for admins, doctors, billing staff, and reception, and handle GST-compliant invoicing with thermal and A4 printing, without depending on a hosted web backend.

The Solution

We built a fully native desktop application using Electron and Next.js with a local SQLite database via Prisma, covering all 8 core modules: authentication with role-based access control, an enterprise dashboard with live KPIs and revenue/patient charts, complete patient management with visit history and document uploads, a doctor console with consultations, prescriptions, and lab requests, full inventory management with batch/expiry tracking and supplier purchase orders, a POS billing system supporting cash/UPI/card/split payments with GST calculation, exportable revenue/patient/doctor/inventory reports, and system settings with automated backups all packaged as a Windows installer via electron-builder.
